Hello from beautiful Banff, Alberta, Canada! The town of Banff is located within Banff National Park and is nestled amongst the Rocky Mountains. My husband and I are vacationing here, taking in the amazing views, hiking trails and hot springs. We even saw a mamma bear and her two cubs on our tour today! Banff has a lot of great restaurants. Hello Alberta beef! To supplement dining out, and fuel our travels here, I brought along a few of my favorite ketogenic diet-friendly snacks. They’re all TSA approved and do not need refrigeration.
Trader Joe’s Coconut Oil Packets– Each packet contains 15 grams/ 1 tbsp of extra-virgin coconut oil. I use them as coconut oil ‘shots’ straight from the packet or throw in my Magic Bullet blender for a fatty coffee.
Chomp’s Meat Sticks– These 100% grass-fed beef sticks come in a variety of meats and flavors (original beef and original turkey are my favorites). They’re individually wrapped and perfect for traveling or throwing in your purse. Each stick contains around 9 grams of protein and 0 carbs.
Kirkland Signature Dry Roasted & Salted Almonds (Costco)– Each 1 oz packet contains 24 grams of fat and 9 grams of carbs, of which, 6 are fiber. Unlike most roasted nuts, these almonds do not contain canola oil. They do make for a great snack, especially when your travel mates pull out the pretzels or potato chips.
